Privacy policy

Last updated: August 18, 2026

This policy explains what data FairNest processes, why, and your rights. It applies to the FairNest website, web app, and iOS app.

1. Controller

The data controller is the FairNest publisher, reachable at help@fairnest.house (or hello@fairnest.house).

2. Data we collect

Depending on use, we may process:

  • Account data: email, password (securely hashed), display name, avatar.
  • Household data: family setup, member first names, children, sharing preferences.
  • Diagnostic and planning data: tasks, load, occurrences, weekly reports, feeling notes.
  • Gamification data: “seed” balance, rewards and redemption history (virtual currency, no real-money value).
  • Billing data (if subscribed): Stripe customer / subscription ids, or App Store subscription identifiers, status and period end — payments are processed by Stripe or Apple; we do not store card numbers.
  • Technical data: technical logs and necessary cookies (see Cookies policy).

3. Purposes

We process data to:

  • Create and manage your account and household.
  • Provide diagnostics, task sharing, weekly tracking and reports.
  • Secure the service, prevent abuse and improve the product.
  • Answer support requests.
  • Meet legal obligations.

4. Legal bases

As applicable: contract performance, legitimate interests (security, improvement), consent (when required), and legal obligation.

5. Recipients

Data is visible to household members you invite, within product features.

Technical processors (including Vercel Inc.) may process data under our instructions.

We do not sell personal data.

6. Transfers outside the EU

Some providers may be located outside the EU (e.g. the United States). We use appropriate safeguards where required.

7. Retention

Account and household data are kept while the account is active, then deleted or archived within a reasonable period after deletion requests or prolonged inactivity, unless longer retention is legally required.

8. Your rights (GDPR)

You may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability where applicable.

Contact: help@fairnest.house. You may also lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority (in France: CNIL).

9. Security

We apply reasonable security measures (authentication, household access controls, HTTPS). No system is perfectly secure.

10. Children

The service is for adults managing a household. Child-related details are entered by parents and do not create a child account.

11. Changes

We may update this policy. The date at the top will change. Significant updates may be communicated in-product or by email.
